Licensed Professional Counselor

MAAT, Albertus Magnus College

BA, Albertus Magnus College

I am an experienced Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor. I earned my Master of Arts Degree in Art Therapy from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, CT. This specialized training allows me to use art and the creative process as a pathway to healing. My background is working with children, adolescents, adults, and families with a variety of therapeutic needs; some of those needs include guiding clients through understanding the impact of their symptoms on their functioning as well as supporting them in making positive changes by identifying and utilizing healthy coping skills. I have a background in working with clients experiencing a variety of symptoms, which include but are not limited to managing symptoms of ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and depression along with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental, neurodevelopmental disorders and special needs. I use art and the creative process as a way to gently tap into an individual's cognitive and emotional processes in a non-evasive way.

My purpose as a therapist is to provide a safe space where clients feel comfortable to process difficult thoughts and emotions. My role is to help clients identify a constructive outlet for stress while supporting them in processing present circumstances; with the goal of assisting them in developing effective problem-solving skills and making positive behavioral changes. As much as art and the creative process can be so helpful, clients do not have to engage in art therapy. Traditional talk therapy is always an option.
