Licensed Mental Health Therapists

We are seeking skilled and Licensed Mental Health Therapists who are looking to provide culturally competent care. Therapists must be open to treatment approaches such as but not limited to Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy.

Education and Qualifications

• Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs), and Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs), Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs), Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors (LADCs). 

• Clinical license must be in good standing in the State of Connecticut

• At least 2 years of clinical experience

• Have skills in applying various interventions with individuals, couples, and families in therapy and/or in crisis

• Willing to work some evening hours 

• Have reliable internet connection and a secure home office for telehealth sessions as needed 

Outpatient Associate Mental Health Clinicians

We are seeking LMSWs, LPC-As, and LMFT-As who are interested in providing individual, couples, and family therapy while working toward independent clinical licensure.

We currently offer in-house clinical supervision for LPC-As and LMFT-As. Associate clinicians in these disciplines may have the opportunity to receive clinical supervision from qualified Sunrise Therapy Services supervisors, subject to availability and applicable Connecticut licensing requirements.



LMSWs are welcome and encouraged to apply; however, Sunrise Therapy Services does not currently have an in-house clinical supervisor available for LMSWs. LMSW applicants who require supervision toward independent licensure will be responsible for obtaining an appropriately qualified outside clinical supervisor and maintaining a supervision arrangement that meets Connecticut requirements.

Education and Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in a field applicable to the clinician’s Connecticut professional license
• Current Connecticut associate-level license/credential appropriate for the services provided: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A), Licensed Marital and Family Therapist Associate (LMFT-A)
• Ability to provide services within the scope of the applicant’s education, training, competency, and Connecticut license
• Compliance with all applicable Connecticut supervision requirements
• Clinicians must already maintain professional liability/malpractice insurance or be able to obtain appropriate coverage prior to providing clinical services at Sunrise Therapy Services. Clinicians are responsible for maintaining appropriate professional liability coverage throughout their contractual relationship with the practice. Proof of current coverage will be required.
• Minimum Availability: 12 clinical hours per week
• Preferred Availability: 28 or more clinical hours per week and Evening Availability
• Saturday Availability: Optional
• Position Type: Fee-for-Service / Independent Contractor, subject to applicable Connecticut independent-contractor requirements

Psychiatrist

We are seeking a mental health professional who has a medical degree, has completed an approved psychiatric residency, and is licensed to practice medicine in the State of Connecticut. They must also have a board certification in psychiatry and have a current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration in order to prescribe certain medications.

• Knowledge of psychiatric medications

Education and Qualifications

• Must have a medical degree, have completed an approved psychiatric residency, and be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Connecticut. 

• Must also have a board certification in psychiatry and have a current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration in order to prescribe certain medications. 

• Will be responsible for diagnosing and treating psychiatric disorders. 

• Duties will include discussing disorders and symptoms with patients to determine a diagnosis and prescribing medication if appropriate to assist with correcting chemical imbalances in the brains of patients. 

• Will work closely alongside a team of Licensed Mental Health Therapists/Professionals within the practice to closely observe the progress of patients to determine the impact of different treatments and make adjustments as needed.
